Since its founding in 1935, Saiseikai Kumamoto Hospital has operated under its philosophy of “contributing to the local community through medical care.” There are five specific pillars we work under: Emergency Care, Advanced Care, Preventive Care, Community Collaboration, and Staff Development. We work together with local medical institutions and strive to provide the best, most advanced clinical care.
As a regional acute care hospital, we have been designated as an emergency and critical care center and we provide advanced, specialized medical care 24 hours a day to patients in need of urgent care.

Consultation hours
- Mon-Fri: 8:30-16:30（The reception desk closes at 11:00am)
- Sat, Sun, Public Holidays: Closed / Emergency Outpatient Unit: open 24 hours.
- Medical services are provided according to Japanese systems. When you come for an examination, you must bring a document that shows your insurance information (such as a health insurance card or overseas travel insurance certificate) and a photo ID (passport or residence card).
- Those with health insurance in Japan will be charged ¥10 per medical treatment point, and those ineligible will be charged ¥30 per point.
- Saiseikai provides acute and advanced medical care. For those who wish to visit a general outpatient clinic, we ask that you first visit your local clinic or primary care physician. You will be charged an additional fee if you do not have a letter of introduction. (This does not apply to emergency outpatients)
- Saiseikai does not have a medical interpreter on staff. We use medical interpretation apps and online interpretation services to communicate in foreign languages. Please arrange for your own interpreter if you wish to have an interpreter with you at Saiseikai.

As of November 23, 2013, Saiseikai Kumamoto Hospital is accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) of the United States, demonstrating that the hospital’s medical care meets international standards in terms of quality and safety.
About Joint Commission International (JCI)
JCI was founded in 1994 as the international wing of the Joint Commission (JC), a third-party accrediting organization for health care institutions in the United States. Formerly named the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), JC was established in 1951. Headquartered in Chicago, JCI supports health care organizations and government bodies in more than 70 countries around the world for the purpose of improving the quality of medical care and patient safety on an ongoing basis. Assessment by JCI being the most stringent in the world, hospitals that have acquired JCI accreditation are recognized as meeting global safety standards of a certain level.

From Fukuoka
At the Kumamoto Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, take Route 57heading in the direction of Uto. The hospital is located on the right-hand side after the Ryutsu Danchi Iriguchi intersection. (About 40 minutes from the Kumamoto Interchange if not congested.)
From Miyazaki and Kagoshima
At the Mifune Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, take Route 445 heading in the direction of Kumamoto-shi for about 8 kilometers. (Route 445 merges with Route 266 along the way.) Turn left onto Route 57 and drive on for about 1.5 kilometers. The hospital is located on the right-hand side after the Ryutsu Danchi Iriguchi intersection. (About 20 minutes from the Mifune Interchange if not congested.)
From Aso, Oita, and Nobeoka
Take Route 57 heading in the direction of Kumamoto-shi. The hospital is located on the right-hand side after the Ryutsu Danchi Iriguchi intersection.
Parking
- The parking fee for the first five hours is 200 yen. From the sixth hour, an additional 100 yen per hour will be charged, with an upper limit of 1,000 yen per day.
- Beware of parking lot theft. The hospital will not be liable for any lost or stolen property.
